Federico Peña
Senior Advisor
Federico has been a senior advisor to the Colorado Impact Fund since its inception in 2014. Previously, he was a senior advisor and managing director of Vestar Capital Partners for 18 years. Federico served in the Clinton administration for 5 ½ years as U.S. Secretary of Transportation and then U.S. Secretary of Energy. Prior to serving in the cabinet, Federico was the mayor of Denver from 1983 to 1991. He is a former board member of numerous public companies and non-profit organizations.
Federico earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Texas, where he has been inducted as a distinguished alumnus.
Originally from Brownsville, Texas, Federico now lives in Denver, Colorado, with his wife and four children.
