Ryan has 20 years of private equity investing experience, exclusively as an investor in emerging middle market companies. As a co-founder of Excellere Partners in 2006, Ryan co-managed a top-decile performing lower middle market private equity fund with approximately $730 million of capital under management. Prior to Excellere, Ryan was a principal of KRG Capital Partners and Boothcreek Management Company. Currently, Ryan is CEO of ICON Eyecare, a Denver-based provider of surgical eye care, and Chairman for Quarterly Forum, a Denver-based leadership organization.
Ryan grew up in Colorado, graduated from the University of Colorado, skied in the 1992 and 1994 Olympic Games, and lives in Denver with his wife and two young children.
Federico is a senior advisor to the Colorado Impact Fund. He was formerly the U.S. Secretary of Energy and the U.S. Secretary of Transportation in the Clinton Administration. Prior to serving in the cabinet, Federico was the mayor of Denver from 1983 to 1991. He currently serves on the boards of Wells Fargo & Company, Sonic Corp. and the Latino Leadership Institute Board.
Federico earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Texas, where he has been inducted as a distinguished alumnus.
Originally from Brownsville, Texas, Federico now lives in Denver, Colorado, with his wife and four children.
Mark Turnage is the CEO of OWL Cybersecurity, LLC, a provider of cybersecurity technologies and services. He was formerly Vice Chairman of the Board and former CEO of OpSec Security Group plc, which he led from a startup in Denver to one of the world’s largest providers of anti-counterfeiting technologies.
Mark is a graduate of Yale Law School, Oxford University, and the University of Colorado, Boulder. Prior to joining OpSec he worked at McKinsey & Co. in New York, and as an attorney with Davis, Graham and Stubbs in Denver. He serves on numerous corporate and non-profit boards, and is a private investor in technology and manufacturing startup companies. Mark speaks Arabic and Spanish, is married with four children, and lives in Denver, Colorado.
Luis serves as investment director at Gary Community Investments (GCI) where he leads the areas of impact investing and innovation. Prior to joining GCI, Luis was a serial entrepreneur. His last venture continues to increase recycling rates in Mexico. Before that, Luis worked for the private and public sector, where he performed as consultant and engineer for the plastics and construction industry and led a 200 staff organization for the public health sector in Mexico.
Luis is currently a director of WeeSchool and serves as a board member for Accion and Mental Health Center of Denver. He is a Colorado Governors Fellow and was also a Fellow at the Unreasonable Institute.
He holds a BS, cum laude, in Mechanical Engineering from Tec de Monterrey and an MBA, cum laude, from Babson College. He lives in Denver with his wife and his two sons.
